Other Budget Measures
Other measures announced in the Budget that may be of interest include:
- Re-introduction of the bi-annual indexation (using the CPI) of excise and excise equivalent customs duty for all fuels except aviation fuels.
- Subject to the state of equity markets, the Government will look to sell off Medibank Private Ltd through an IPO during the 2015 financial year.
- You will now have to contribute $7.00 per visit for the first 10 visits to see your doctor and the cost of prescriptions will increase by $5.00 per script.
